Tesla made their EV charger available to other carmakers

The design and specification files are available for download, and the business is currently working with key standards bodies to codify Tesla's charging connection as a public standard. Tesla claims that their charging connector and charge port, which it now refers to as the North American Charging Standard (NACS), are the most widely used in North America. No automakers or charging infrastructure businesses are mentioned as converts in the piece.

At least one firm, Aptera, an electric vehicle start-up, supports the move. Aptera advocated earlier this year for the US government to adopt Tesla's Supercharger technology as the standard for all EV charging in the country. EVgo has also installed Tesla connections at certain points of its charging stations in the United States. Network operators already have plans in action to implement NACS at their chargers. If network providers such as ChargePoint Holdings, EVConnect, or Electrify America install NACS, Tesla owners will be able to charge at these stations without the use of an adaptor.

This positive news could be a small bandage on Elon Musk, who is battling with the takeover of Twitter right now, and it seems like it is not going according to his plans.
