EA ended partnership with FIFA

As reported, EA made an offer to FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) but the latter have refused it. The biggest problem for FIFA was the demand to lock up all rights to only one publisher, while they are searching to expand and with it gain more revenue.

FIFA already announced that they will release new football game, which will be developed by third party publishers. EA Sports also said that their new franchise will be called EA Sports FC and will include more than 300 licenses from all the biggest leagues around the world, including Premier League, La Liga, UEFA, etc.

Even though the partnership was supposed to end after these years World Cup in Qatar, both parties have decided to release one more and last videogame, FIFA 23, which is expected to come later this year (as most of its previous parts). The partnership is now expected to end next year in summer, after the Women’s World Cup.
